Helen McSwain, MD, FACOG

Helen McSwain, M.D.An Atlanta native, Dr. McSwain is one of the founders of the practice that became Peachtree Women's Specialists, and has been with the group since 1989. She earned a degree in Biology, with Honors, and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of the South, and a degree in Physical Therapy from Georgia State University. Dr. McSwain graduated from Emory University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Emory University's Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Dr. McSwain shares her medical skills with the community by volunteering at the Good Samaritan Clinic and serving on the Board of Global Health Action, a nonprofit organization that focuses on worldwide health concerns. She specializes in high-risk obstetrics and has traveled internationally on mission trips to advise local physicians and offer hands-on medical assistance.

Dr. McSwain and her husband, Laurin M. McSwain, are active at their church, the Cathedral of St. Philip, and have three grown children, one of whom is now attending medical school. Outside of work, Dr. McSwain enjoys sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
